For Charcoal Grill: 1. Soak two cups of chips in water for 30 minutes while Public GreenWise 100% Natural Wood Charcoal is heating. Spread ashed-over charcoal evenly. 2. Remove chips from water and drain off excess. Spread evenly over ashed charcoal and start cooking. Chips will smoke for approximately 15 minutes. 3. For longer-cooking foods, add more drained chips every 30 minutes. For Non-Charcoal Outdoor Grills: 1. Soak two cups of chips in water for 30 minutes. 2. Remove chips from water and drain off excess. Place directly on lava or ceramic coal, or in shallow-depth metal pan or aluminum foil. 3. When chips start to smoke (approximately 3-5 minutes), begin to cook. If possible leave lid on grill closed.
